It was established in 1964 in Egypt and began its international expansion in 1971. Electro Tharwat has since participated in several projects across the MEA and has opened branches in Libya, Qatar and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

A Pioneer in the Power Industry
Electro Tharwat pioneered the construction of automated power monitoring & control and renewable energy projects in Egypt, as a turnkey contractor, by being the first local contractor trusted to take on multifaceted, design and build, technologically driven power projects, such as control centers and hydro power plants, in consortium with international technology providers.
It was also the first local Egyptian company to be prequalified by the Egyptian Ministry of Electricity to be the main contractor for conventional power generation projects, opening the door for the EPC Contractor concept to finally emerge in the Egyptian conventional power stations market.
In terms of power grid solutions, Electro Tharwat was at the forefront of HVDC interconnection projects in the middle east, participating in several interconnection projects between countries in the Arabian Gulf and Levant regions. It has also executed hundreds of substation and transmission line projects, giving it of the most extensive reference lists for power grid projects in the MEA region.

They managed to do so by using Electro Tharwat’s trained and certified personnel to cover the supervision role on Site, in coordination with their remote factories, and by using Electro Tharwat’s project management team to represent them in meetings with Clients.
